Eye Care

CAROLINE R. MOSHEL, MD is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology and neuro-ophthalmology.

The Eye Specialists

Originally from North Carolina, Dr. Moshel completed her undergraduate degree at Duke University where she graduated with cum laude honors.  She then received her medical degree at New York University School of Medicine.  After she completed her internship at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Manhattan, she returned to New York University and Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital for her ophthalmology residency where she served as Chief Resident during her final year.  She then completed further specialized fellowship training at Wills Eye Hospital in neuro-ophthalmology. She has published numerous research articles and given presentations at many national ophthalmology conferences.

In addition to neuro-ophthalmology, Dr. Moshel’s interests include the management of cataract, glaucoma, dry eyes, as well as cosmetic and medical use of Botox.

Liz Matheis, Ph.D., is licensed clinical psychologist and certified school psychologist who specializes in assisting children and their families with autism, ADHD, anxiety and learning/behavioral disorders in Parsippany, NJ. Elliot Rosenstein is the Director of the Institute for Rheumatic & Autoimmune Disease at Overlook Medical Center, Summit, NJ. Associate Clinical Professor Clinical Immunology Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Adjunct Associate Professor Rheumatology NYU School of Medicine, Adjunct Professor Periodontics New Jersey Dental School. He received his Medical Doctorate from Mount Sinai School of Medicine 1978 with postgraduate training in internal medicine and rheumatology at New York University 1978-1984. He is the former President of the New Jersey Rheumatology Association and is on the Board of Directors of the Arthritis FoundationNJ Chapter. He received the Catherine and Gilbert Miller Fellowship of the New York Arthritis Foundation and the Thomas P Infusino Lectureship of the Lautenberg Center for General Tumor Immunology. He is former contributing editor of postgraduate advances in Rheumatology and Year Book of Rheumatology. He has published over 65 articles reviews and chapters on a variety of rheumatologic and immunologic topics.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Dr. Janet Bartov is a rheumatologist in Morristown, New Jersey and is affiliated with Morristown Medical Center. She received her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and has been in practice between 6-10 years.

Genomic Medicine

Dr. Arnold Pallay, a founding member of Vanguard Medical Group and Director of Practice Development, is a board-certified family physician in private practice in Montville, NJ since 1986. He previously founded Changebridge Medical Associates, P.A. a mid-sized, full service practice before merging into Vanguard Medical Group in 2012. Dr. Pallay graduated from the accelerated medical program at Boston University completing both his undergraduate major in history and his medical school studies there. He then finished his residency in Family Medicine at The Mountainside Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident. He was part-time faculty coordinator for obstetrics training there, until completing his 18 years of providing maternity care to his patients in 2003. Dr. Pallay holds clinical academic appointments at both, NJ Medical Schools and the Seton Hall Graduate School of Medicine.

Dr. Pallay is currently Vice Chair of Family Medicine at Morristown Medical Center and is the Associate Medical Director of Personalized Genomic Medicine at Atlantic Health System, Morristown Memorial/ Overlook Hospitals, where he lectures and champions issues in genetics for physicians and patients alike. He is the Medical Director for several area nursing homes and school physician for a number of neighboring towns as well. He has served as President of the Morris County Medical Society, the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians and the NJ Association of Medical Specialty Societies. Dr. Pallay is senior delegate to the Congress of Delegates from NJ to AAFP, and has served on its Commission on Finance and Insurance.

Skull Base Surgery

Dr. Yaron Moshel is co-director of The Brain Tumor Center of New Jersey at Atlantic Health System’s Overlook Medical Center in Summit and part of the neurosurgical team at Atlantic Neurosurgical Specialists in Morristown. He is also Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at NYU Langone Medical Center.

Dr. Moshel is one of a select few surgeons who specialize in removing deep-seated brain tumors using technology that includes computer-guided navigation, awake intraoperative brain mapping, endoscopy, and microsurgery. Dr. Moshel is a vital part of Overlook Medical Center’s CyberKnife Program making it the largest CyberKnife Program in the tri-state region for the treatment of brain tumors. Dr. Moshel is also actively involved in advancing the treatment of brain tumors and actively participates in national multicenter clinical trials, most recently working with an autologous dendritic cell vaccine and on a retroviral vaccine trial for recurrent brain tumors.

Previously Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Dr. Moshel’s clinical interests and neurosurgical abilities extend beyond the treatment of brain tumors. He is experienced in the surgical approaches for skull base and spine tumors and in endoscopic transnasal surgery for pituitary and skull base lesions. His practice also encompasses the surgical treatment of epilepsy and minimally invasive treatment of trigeminal neuralgia.
